The ties are all one-off, individual designs hand-painted on silk.

It is possible that a design may be repeated. If you would like a special design or colour, I can paint to order.

A little geometry :
In the beginning, a tie is a trapezium shaped piece of silk, divided into 3 pieces :
• the large piece (the front of the tie),
• a smaller piece (the back),
• and the neck piece.

I cover the silk trapezium with a template of the same shape, in which I have cut out the shape of the front of the tie, leaving exposed the area of the front of the tie.
I paint my designs in this space.
After steaming, the 3 pieces are cut,sewn together and the lining is added.
The tie is then finished and my label sewn on the back.
